Langley Profile: The Langley Events Centre: A Nostalgic Chronicle of a Community Hub

The Langley Events Centre opened its doors in April 2009, with the BC Gymnastics Championships as its inaugural event​. A complex built “exclusively from materials native to British Columbia”, showcasing massive timber beams and glulam wood accents that gave the building a West Coast character​.

The Giants began play in the 2001 season, originally based at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver before relocating to Langley in 2016. They quickly established themselves as a competitive force within the WHL. In the 2005–06 season, the Giants captured their first Ed Chynoweth Cup as WHL champions.
