In May 2025, Vancouver will host the inaugural Web Summit Vancouver, a premier global technology conference, at the Vancouver Convention Centre from May 27-30. This event, succeeding the Collision Conference previously held in Toronto, marks Web Summit’s first North American flagship, bringing together over 15,000 tech enthusiasts, including entrepreneurs, investors, media, and industry leaders.
With Vancouver’s thriving tech ecosystem—home to over 11,000 tech companies and ranking first in North American high-tech job growth—the city is poised to shine on the global stage.Web Summit Vancouver will feature keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking sessions focused on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
Notable speakers include Jay Graber, CEO of Bluesky, and Jack Newton of Clio, alongside global innovators discussing trends shaping the future. The event will also host the “Do Business with Canada” program, facilitating over 500 business-to-business meetings to connect Canadian tech firms with international buyers and investors. Innovate BC’s “Road to Web Summit” initiative will further support local startups with pitch training and media engagement programs.
Economically, the summit is expected to generate CA$172 million in direct spending and CA$279 million in overall impact for British Columbia over three years. The BC Pavilion, coordinated by the Naturally Innovative Alliance, will showcase the province’s tech innovations intertwined with its natural environment. Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim emphasizes the city’s vibrant tech scene, bolstered by advancements in virtual and augmented reality.
With complimentary tickets offered to Indigenous attendees and select startups, Web Summit Vancouver promises inclusivity and opportunity.
