🐷 TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS: Pigs Still Flying, But One Wing Clipped
Yes, the Toronto Maple Leafs have made it to the second round—and even won two games. That means somewhere, a pig is flying... and it brought a broom. Sadly, that broom got snapped in Game 3 when the Florida Panthers responded with a 5–3 win and a reminder that the jungle still isn’t leaf-friendly.
Still, the series sits at 2–1 Toronto, and if the Leafs can survive Florida humidity and their own playoff nerves, the sky's still the limit. Just don’t ask for consistency—it’s Toronto.
Series Score: Toronto 2 – Florida 1
- Game 1: TOR 5 – FLA 4
- Game 2: TOR 4 – FLA 3
- Game 3: FLA 5 – TOR 3
- Game 4: Wednesday, May 14 @ Florida
Fun stat: Toronto hasn’t made the Conference Final since Blockbuster Video was still a thing.
🛢️ EDMONTON OILERS: McJesus Resurrects Hope, Skinner Returns, Vegas Laughs Last
Edmonton’s Game 3 was so close to perfection, it hurt. With Connor “McJesus” McDavid doing his usual deity-level stuff and Stuart Skinner back as the official starter (after being swapped out more than a Tinder match last round), the Oilers were ready to go up 3–0 on the Vegas Golden Knights.
They didn’t.
Reilly Smith pulled off the ultimate villain move, scoring with 0.4 seconds left after a deflection off Draisaitl’s stick. Even Skinner’s glorious mustache couldn’t stop that one. The Oilers’ lead is still intact, but Game 4 is now a pressure cooker.
Series Score: Edmonton 2 – Vegas 1
- Game 1: EDM 4 – VGK 2
- Game 2: EDM 5 – VGK 4 (OT)
- Game 3: VGK 4 – EDM 3 (last-second heartbreak)
- Game 4: Monday, May 12 @ Edmonton
Skinner Watch: Looked solid, got no help on the final dagger, and handled the media scrum like a man who’s been through exactly this before.
🌀 CAROLINA VS. WASHINGTON: TIED AND TENSE
This series is shaping up to be sneakily great. The Washington Capitals bounced back in Game 2 with a 3–1 win, knotting things up at 1–1. Logan Thompson has been clutch in net, and the Hurricanes need to whip up a Category 5 if they want to avoid falling behind.
Series Score: 1 – 1
- Game 1: CAR 4 – WSH 2
- Game 2: WSH 3 – CAR 1
- Game 3: Tuesday, May 13 @ Washington
✈️ DALLAS STARS VS. WINNIPEG JETS: SERIES STILL TAKING OFF
The Stars took Game 1 in a close contest, and Game 2 is set for tonight. Winnipeg needs to remember how to shoot pucks at the net and not into each other’s skates if they want a fighting chance.
Series Score: Dallas 1 – Winnipeg 0
- Game 1: DAL 3 – WPG 2
- Game 2: Monday, May 12 @ Dallas
