Creativity doesn’t die when ignored. It festers. Mutates. It eats you alive from the inside.
This is basic physics. Energy doesn’t disappear; it transforms. The same goes for your creative drive. If you don’t use it, it curdles into anxiety, self-loathing, bitterness, and eventually, addiction. Unused creativity becomes everything you swore you’d never be.
You know the feeling. That gut-punch watching someone do what you wish you had the courage to try. That low-grade anger buzzing through a life you didn’t choose. That’s not laziness or bad luck. It’s creative energy, rotting.
Every idea you bury, every instinct you override, every risk you avoid, that’s spiritual constipation. And it doesn’t sit quietly. It festers into self-sabotage, distraction, trolling, or a depression so deep you forget you’re human.
Creativity is motion. Block it, and you don’t just “miss your potential”; you poison your own well. You invent fears instead of futures. Your mind, built to make, starts to destroy.
This is the dark physics no one talks about when they say “follow your passion.” Passion isn’t a luxury; it’s a survival strategy. It’s how you alchemize the chaos inside into something of value. Avoiding it is slow, shame-soaked self-destruction.
The worst part? It’s self-inflicted. You choose it every time you scroll, drink, overwork, or go numb. You silence the voice inside urging, “Try it. Do it.”
But here’s the truth: it doesn’t matter if what you create is garbage. What matters is that you create. Badly. Loudly. Often. Because every messy attempt is oxygen. It’s motion and release and nourishment, and love.
You either create or decay.
And if you don’t choose?
Your creativity will choose for you.
And it won’t be kind.
