Vancouver, BC – August 11, 2025 – The countdown to the FIFA World Cup 2026 is on, and Vancouver is ready to shine on the global stage. Today, the city launches its volunteer program registration, inviting passionate individuals to join the team that will make this historic tournament unforgettable.
This is your chance to represent Vancouver’s vibrant spirit and be part of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Whether you’re a football fanatic or simply love showcasing your city, your energy will help create lasting memories for fans from around the world.
Volunteers will be the heartbeat of the World Cup in Vancouver, playing a pivotal role in delivering a world-class experience. From guiding visitors along scenic routes to BC Place, assisting with accessibility services, or sharing local tips at the electrifying Fan Festival, your contributions will reflect Vancouver’s diversity and renowned hospitality.
Roles are varied and exciting, including language assistance for international guests, managing accreditation processes, or directing fans with a warm, welcoming smile. Every task, big or small, will embody the pride and passion of our city, ensuring fans leave with stories to tell and a desire to return.
The program welcomes everyone—students, retirees, newcomers, and lifelong Vancouverites alike. If you can recommend the best local coffee spot, point fans toward the stunning seawall, or share insights about the city’s vibrant neighborhoods, your knowledge is invaluable. Fluency in English is required, but proficiency in additional languages is a major asset to connect with a global audience.
Volunteers, ranging from 18 to over 80 years old, will reflect Vancouver’s rich cultural mosaic, united by a shared love for football and community spirit. No prior experience is needed—just enthusiasm and a willingness to make a difference.
As one of 16 host cities across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, Vancouver is part of the largest volunteer program in World Cup history, with 65,000 volunteers needed continent-wide. By joining, you’ll not only ensure a seamless and memorable fan experience but also leave a lasting legacy by showcasing Vancouver’s unique identity.
This is your opportunity to connect with billions of football fans, forge new friendships, and be part of a historic moment that will resonate for years to come.
