Vancouver’s Kitsilano Beach will come alive from July 11 to 13, 2025, as the 32nd annual Vancouver Open, Canada’s premier professional beach volleyball tournament, returns for a thrilling three-day spectacle.
Hosted by Volleyball BC and presented by Natura Solutions, this storied event, a summer tradition for over three decades, draws elite athletes from Canada, North America, South America, and beyond, promising high-energy competition and a vibrant beachside atmosphere. With a $40,000 USD prize purse on the line, the stakes are as high as the iconic Coast Mountains backdrop.
The main draw features 24 men’s and women’s teams, with top players vying for the championship title. Past participants include Olympians like Jamie Broder and Sam Schachter, showcasing the tournament’s global appeal.
A qualifying tournament on Friday determines the final eight slots per gender, ensuring fierce competition. Concurrently, the Youth Vancouver Open offers 14U and 16U divisions, giving young athletes a chance to shine on the same sands as their professional counterparts, fostering the next generation of volleyball stars.
Spectators can enjoy free entry, with 660 seats, including 300 in the lively Beer Garden, and ample standing room around 11 courts. Beyond the volleyball action, Kits Beach offers a festive vibe with sponsor booths, games, music, and food vendors, perfect for families and fans. The beach’s scenic English Bay views invite visitors to relax, swim, or explore nearby trails and cafes in Kitsilano’s vibrant neighborhood.
Parking at Kitsilano Beach is available in marked pay lots, though spaces are limited, with fees enforced from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Free street parking nearby is scarce, and vehicles risk ticketing or towing, so plan to arrive early or use public transit, with buses stopping close to the beach.
Whether you’re cheering for world-class athletes or soaking up the summer vibes, the Vancouver Open at Kits Beach is a must-visit event. For more details, visit Volleyball BC.
