I'm excited to share some great news for anyone considering retirement in Canada: Forbes Magazine has named Sidney, B.C., as one of the "3 Great Places to Retire in Canada." Published on March 31, the article praised Sidney’s breathtaking natural beauty, mild coastal climate, and warm, welcoming community.

Forbes described Sidney as "the most popular retirement destination in all of Canada," highlighting its appeal to retirees seeking a high-quality lifestyle with easy access to both outdoor activities and excellent healthcare. One of Sidney’s major draws is its milder winters compared to much of the rest of the country, making it an ideal choice for those who prefer a more temperate climate.

The article also emphasized Sidney’s vibrant social scene, noting that the town has a strong community spirit and many active social groups, particularly designed to help newcomers settle in. Forbes pointed out that the town’s population includes a large number of expatriates from the United States and the United Kingdom, contributing to its friendly and inclusive atmosphere.

Alongside Sidney, Forbes recognized two other Canadian destinations: Canmore, Alberta, known for its spectacular mountain scenery and proximity to Banff National Park — a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts — and Prince Edward County, Ontario, celebrated as the “gastronomic capital” of the province, offering small-town charm and a thriving local food and arts scene.

According to Forbes, all three locations share an attractive combination of affordability, strong amenities, and an excellent quality of life, making them particularly appealing to U.S. retirees looking to relocate.

It’s wonderful to see a British Columbia town like Sidney receive such well-deserved recognition on an international stage!
