Looking for an unforgettable way to kick off the weekend with the whole family? Mark your calendar for the Shortreed Elementary PAC’s annual Fun Fair, happening Friday, May 23 from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 27330 28 Avenue in Aldergrove.

This highly anticipated community event combines classic fairground fun with interactive education and exciting local showcases — all while raising funds to support students and school programs at Shortreed Elementary.

A Carnival of Fun for All Ages

From pony rides to popcorn, this fair has something for everyone:

  • Pony Rides – A perennial favourite for the little ones.
  • Reptile Encounters – A hands-on wildlife education experience for curious minds, featuring fascinating reptiles and expert presenters.
  • Photo Booth – Capture the memories with silly props and fun backdrops.
  • Rock Climbing Wall & Rides – Challenge yourself or just enjoy the thrills.
  • Bouncy Castles & Carnival Games – Plenty of laughs and prizes for all ages.
  • Community Demonstrations – Local groups and organizations will share performances and demonstrations throughout the day.
  • Tasty Treats – Fuel your fun with hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and more.

Admission Details

Entry to the fair is easy and affordable:

  • Wristbands are $15 per person
  • Children four and under pay just $5

Each wristband covers most attractions, but a few specialty activities — like the cakewalk, jar games, and pony rides — require extra tickets, which can be purchased on site.

A Cause Worth Supporting

Organized by the Shortreed Elementary Parent Advisory Council (PAC), the Fun Fair raises money to support programs, resources, and enrichment opportunities for students — making this event not only a great time, but a great cause.

Whether you're a Shortreed family, a community neighbor, or just looking for a joyful way to spend your Friday afternoon, the Fun Fair is open to everyone. Come ready to play, learn, laugh, and connect — it’s going to be a fantastic day in Aldergrove!
