VANCOUVER, BC – History will be made at BC Place this Sunday when German football legend Thomas Müller makes his highly anticipated Vancouver Whitecaps FC debut against Houston Dynamo FC. The 35-year-old Bayern Munich icon, who officially signed his contract with the club on Thursday, will be introduced to a sold-out lower bowl in what promises to be the club's largest MLS crowd of the season.

The atmosphere surrounding Sunday's 6 p.m. PT kickoff has reached fever pitch since the Whitecaps announced they'd signed the attacking midfielder as a free agent. Müller brings an unprecedented pedigree to MLS, having amassed 756 appearances, 250 goals, and 238 assists during his remarkable 17-year career with Bayern Munich, helping secure a record 33 titles. His international resume is equally impressive, with 131 caps and 45 goals for Germany, including playing a crucial role in their 2014 FIFA World Cup victory.

The Fan Zone on Terry Fox Plaza will be the epicenter of Sunday's celebration, opening at 3 p.m. PT with German-inspired specials in the beer garden and an array of family-friendly activities. The highlight will be Müller's stadium arrival, presented by Chevrolet, with fans encouraged to arrive by 3:30 p.m. PT to welcome the World Cup winner. This will be a stadium arrival presentation, not an autograph signing event, but represents a unique opportunity for supporters to be part of MLS history.

Whitecaps CEO and sporting director Axel Schuster called the addition of Müller a "statement signing," praising his elite chance creation, unmatched spatial awareness, and relentless work ethic. The signing represents a transformative moment for the franchise, which has already exceeded expectations this season under coach Jesper Sorenson.

Sunday's match marks the second meeting between the teams this season, with Vancouver claiming a convincing 3-0 victory in Texas last month. With the lower bowl completely sold out and premium suites still available, the stage is set for an unforgettable evening as one of football's greatest legends begins his North American adventure.
