For 90 remarkable years, the Kitsilano Showboat has brought joy, music, and cultural celebration to the heart of Vancouver’s Kitsilano Beach. What began in 1935 as a simple stage on the sand has grown into a treasured summer tradition that unites locals and visitors alike through the universal language of performance.

The Kitsilano Showboat Society proudly celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2025, marking nearly a century of showcasing world-class amateur talent against one of the most breathtaking backdrops imaginable—English Bay, the North Shore Mountains, and glowing West Coast sunsets.

Each summer, this open-air community stage hosts multicultural performances by entertainers of all ages and backgrounds from across Metro Vancouver and beyond. From traditional dance troupes and choirs to global touring acts, Showboat offers a platform for those who may not otherwise have a chance to shine on a public stage. The variety of cultural expressions reflects the vibrant diversity of our society.

Kudos are due to the generations of volunteers, organizers, and performers who have sustained this iconic venue. Their dedication has kept the spirit of community alive, one performance at a time.
