Yes, Kitsilano Pool is set to welcome swimmers for the entire 2025 summer season, starting Saturday, May 17! This marks a significant return after limited operations in previous years due to extensive maintenance and repair work.CityNews Vancouver Over the decades, it has served as a hub for families, fitness enthusiasts, and sun-seekers. Travelgressing

Kits Pool holds the distinction of being the longest outdoor saltwater pool in North America. Measuring 137 meters (approximately 450 feet) in length, making it nearly three times the length of a standard Olympic-sized pool, which is 50 meters long. No wonder when I swim there, one lap really is a long lap!

The pool's substantial length and picturesque setting make it an attractive location for serious swimmers seeking a unique training environment. The pool is divided into sections to accommodate various activities, including lap swimming, family-friendly shallow areas, and casual swimming zones.

Kitsilano Pool typically operates from mid-May to mid-September, offering a range of programs and amenities for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Its combination of size, saltwater composition, and stunning surroundings continues to make it a cherished destination for both local residents and visitors.

Recent Renovations and Maintenance

In recent years, the pool faced challenges due to aging infrastructure. Significant repairs were undertaken, including the replacement of expansion joints, waterproofing membrane repairs, and upgrades to water supply piping. These efforts aim to extend the pool's lifespan while plans for a comprehensive renewal are underway. Construct Connect+2Vancouver Park Board+2Vancouver Park Board+2
