Here’s something we don’t talk about enough: stress creates heat.

When you're juggling meetings, deadlines, and 100-degree weather, your nervous system runs hot — literally. Your heart rate rises. Your digestion slows. Your focus scatters.

In the heat of summer, calming the mind isn’t just self-care — it’s survival for leaders.

Here are simple ways to lower your internal temperature so you can lead with clarity and calm:

🧘🏽 Practice breathwork. Try the 4-7-8 technique: inhale for 4 seconds, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Repeat for 2 minutes to instantly reset your nervous system.

🫖 Sip iced herbal teas. Peppermint, hibiscus, lemon balm, and chamomile help cool the body and quiet the mind. (Preferably with little to no sugar!)

📿 5-minute chill resets. Step away from screens. Sit in silence. Place your hands over your heart or on your lap. Breathe. Just 5 minutes can shift everything.

🕯️ Aromatherapy. Use essential oils like lavender, peppermint, or eucalyptus. Keep a roller or diffuser nearby for quick mental refreshment.

🎧 Create a chill playlist. Instrumental music, nature sounds, or binaural beats help regulate brain waves and invite calm.

🌿 Mindful movement. Gentle stretching or 10 minutes of barefoot grounding in grass helps discharge excess energy and restore calm.

Remember, your leadership energy starts inside.

The cooler your mind, the clearer your moves. Chill with intention — and lead with grace.
