Exciting news is sweeping across the nation: from August 8–25, 2025, the vibrant city of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador will host the 2025 Canada Summer Games, bringing together over 4,600 athletes, coaches, and managers from every province and territory. This landmark event will showcase the best of Canadian amateur sport in a city described as “a place like no other.”
St. John’s — the oldest city in North America — offers a rich history, striking coastal landscapes, and a culture of resilience and warmth. As the host city, it will welcome Canadians to connect through sport, adventure, and friendship, reflecting the spirit of the Games themselves.
With up to 19 sports featured over two thrilling weeks, the 2025 Canada Games aim to inspire unity and excellence. From athletics to wheelchair basketball, the Games embrace inclusivity, with events for both able-bodied athletes and athletes with physical or intellectual disabilities.
The newly unveiled 2025 Canada Games logo, inspired by Newfoundland youth, visually captures this spirit. Its red pays homage to the province’s rugged coastline, blue nods to St. John’s architecture, and gold represents the shared flame of passion and competition. Cleverly forming the initials “SJ,” the logo also symbolizes the athletic podium — a reminder of the dreams ignited on this national stage.
The Canada Games have long been a launchpad for legends — Sidney Crosby, Andre De Grasse, Eugenie Bouchard, and Steve Nash are among its alumni. Beyond individual glory, the Games cultivate leadership, community legacy, and national pride.
Led by the Canada Games Council, a non-profit founded in 1991, and powered by thousands of volunteers and all levels of government, the event is a testament to collaboration, inclusion, and excellence.
Whether you're an athlete, fan, or volunteer — the 2025 Canada Games are an invitation to be part of something unforgettable. In a land of firsts, St. John’s will deliver a Games like no other.
