The Vancouver Alpen Club is proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone — 90 years of cultural tradition, community spirit, and German-Canadian heritage. To mark the occasion, the Club is hosting a vibrant fundraising celebration on Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Jim Green House Studio (The Cultch) in East Vancouver.

The theme of the event, “90 Years of Community – A New Chapter Begins,” reflects both a proud history and an exciting future. The Alpen Club, founded in 1935, has long been a hub for German-speaking communities in Vancouver. Now, as the organization plans for the redevelopment of its beloved cultural space, the fundraiser will both honour the past and build momentum for what’s to come.

The day begins with free family-friendly fun from 3 to 5 PM, featuring face painting, games, and crafts to engage kids and families in the celebration. In the evening, from 6 to 9 PM, guests can enjoy a ticketed fundraiser filled with classic German treats like Brezel and Bier, live entertainment, raffle prizes, and a silent auction. One of the evening’s highlights will be an exclusive first look at the Alpen Club’s future home, showcasing how the next chapter of the Club will continue to serve the community for generations.

All proceeds from the event will go toward the redevelopment of the Club’s cultural space. Supporters who cannot attend are encouraged to donate directly, become a supporting member, or help in other ways.

The Club is also calling for sponsors, raffle prize donors, and artists interested in contributing to the silent auction, themed “My Germany.”

As the Vancouver Alpen Club turns 90, it extends an invitation to all members, friends, and supporters to join in the festivities and help shape a vibrant future.

Tickets, donations, and more information are available at info@vacbc.ca.
