Vancouver will host the Vancouver AI Summit 2025 on October 19-20 at the iconic Harbour Centre, solidifying its status as Canada’s premier artificial intelligence (AI) conference. This two-day event will unite industry leaders, researchers, and innovators to explore AI breakthroughs, practical applications, and startup innovation, fostering collaboration within Canada’s vibrant tech ecosystem.
Organized by the Google Developer Group - Vancouver, the summit builds on the success of its 2024 edition, which welcomed over 250 attendees and featured 40 speakers across 30 sessions. This year’s event adopts a more curated, high-impact format, focusing on one powerful day of discussions, workshops, and networking. It aims to bridge academia, industry, and startups, spotlighting AI’s transformative potential in sectors like healthcare, finance, manufacturing, and creative services.
The summit’s timing aligns with Canada’s growing prominence as a global AI research hub, bolstered by institutions like the Vector Institute and university research centers in British Columbia and beyond. With Vancouver’s tech sector booming—home to over 12,000 tech companies and 180,000 jobs—the event offers a platform for local and international professionals to connect, share insights, and forge partnerships that could shape the future of AI innovation.
Among the confirmed speakers are Dr. Baochun Li, a University of Toronto professor and Bell Canada Endowed Chair in Computer Engineering, renowned for his work in cloud computing and datacenter networking; Dr. Amine Trabelsi, a leading AI researcher and co-chair of the Canadian AI Conference 2025; and Procheta Nag, a key figure in Vancouver’s AI community and organizer of the summit. Their expertise will anchor discussions on topics like machine learning implementation, ethical AI development, automation strategies, and AI’s societal impact.
The summit’s emphasis on startup innovation sets it apart, offering emerging companies a stage to showcase AI-driven solutions alongside industry giants. Interactive workshops and networking sessions will facilitate collaboration, making it a must-attend for entrepreneurs, researchers, and business leaders.
With tickets available through Eventbrite, the Vancouver AI Summit 2025 promises to be a pivotal event for anyone eager to stay ahead in AI’s rapidly evolving landscape. Set against Vancouver’s stunning backdrop, the summit combines cutting-edge discourse with world-class hospitality, making it an unmissable opportunity for local and global attendees
