Located at 1768 Davie Street in Vancouver’s vibrant West End, AetherHaus is redefining wellness with a space that invites intentional pause and inner connection. Drawing its name from the ancient Greek concept of Aether—the fifth classical element embodying the essence of the heavens—AetherHaus is not just a spa but a sanctuary for self-discovery.
Founded by Kevin Frank (PREC), owner of the Jungle Room and a real estate agent with Engel & Völkers Vancouver. AetherHaus opened its doors to offer a unique blend of tradition and tranquility, welcoming every body, background, and story. AetherHaus is designed to feel like a second home, where guests can immerse themselves in a 90-minute journey of heat, cold, and reflection.
The centerpiece is an expansive Himalayan salt sauna, radiating gentle warmth to soothe the body and mind. Complementing this are communal ice baths, sheltered by dimly lit rock walls, offering a refreshing contrast. The spa’s cold plunge program, led by Wim Hof–trained instructors, introduces guests to the invigorating practice of controlled breathing and cold exposure, a method rooted in the teachings of Dutch extreme athlete Wim Hof.
AetherHaus proudly claims to be Vancouver’s first spa to offer communal cold pools fully compliant with public health regulations, with multiple temperature options to suit both novices and seasoned practitioners. Inspired by German Aufguss rituals—sauna ceremonies where a “sauna master” infuses steam with essential oils and music—and Russian Banya traditions, AetherHaus emphasizes slowness and intention over performance.
“We created AetherHaus to welcome everyone, not just the hyper health-conscious,” says Frank. “This is a space to show up as you are and experience the power of stillness.” Guests are encouraged to disconnect, with phones stored in lockers to preserve the sanctuary’s serene atmosphere. Soft conversation and mindful movement are requested to honour the shared experience.
Practicalities are thoughtfully handled: bring a bathing suit and water bottle (no glass), and AetherHaus provides two towels, shower amenities, and lockers. While walk-ins are welcome, booking via the app or website ensures a spot in the curated sessions, which may feature ambient music, aroma infusion, or silence. Sip herbal tea in the lounge, reconnect with yourself, and find your Aether in this haven of restoration. For corporate events and private bookings, please contact mika@aetherhaus.ca.
