BC Place Stadium welcomed three distinguished international visitors this past Saturday, October 18, as the FIFA World Cup 26™ mascots made a special stop in Vancouver. Maple the Moose, Zayu the Jaguar, and Clutch the Bald Eagle arrived at the Vancouver Whitecaps FC's final regular season match, bringing World Cup excitement to thousands of fans.

The FIFA Mascots Meet and Greet took place in the Fan Zone on Terry Fox Plaza from 4:45-5:15 p.m.The trio represents the three host nations of the 2026 FIFA World Cup—Canada, Mexico, and the United States—and their Vancouver appearance marks one stop on an extensive tour across North America. Since their unveiling in September 2025, these mascots have embarked on an ambitious tour visiting 16 cities across North America—11 in the United States, three in Mexico, and two in Canada—showcasing national cultures and building anticipation for the tournament that will feature 48 teams competing from June 11 to July 19, 2026.

Maple, Canada's street-style-loving goalkeeper known for legendary saves and artistic flair, brought creative energy to the space. Zayu, Mexico's fearless striker who combines exceptional agility with cultural pride, added fierce determination. Clutch, the United States' natural midfielder who unites people wherever he goes, rounded out the group with boundless optimism. For one special day, Spike shared his sanctuary with these three touring ambassadors as they prepared for their stadium appearance before continuing their journey to other Canadian cities.

The mascots' Vancouver stopover represents more than a single-day visit—it symbolizes the unity and shared passion that defines the beautiful game. As BC Place prepares to host seven World Cup matches, this momentary gathering of three mascots from different backgrounds demonstrates soccer's power to bring nations together. Though Maple, Zayu, and Clutch have moved on to their next destinations, their presence reminded Vancouver fans that the world's greatest tournament approaches, and the city stands ready to welcome it.
