VANCOUVER – As anticipation builds for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, FIFA has officially unveiled the "Canada Celebrates" route, a strategic initiative designed to extend the tournament’s economic and cultural impact far beyond the primary host hubs of Vancouver and Toronto.

The tour represents a massive logistical undertaking, aiming to bring the "world’s game" to the doorsteps of over 75% of the Canadian population. For Western Canada and the West Coast, the tour kicks off on 5 June in Whitehorse, Yukon, before descending through a series of key British Columbia interior markets.

Economic and Community Integration

The program is more than just a fan festival; it is a calculated effort to distribute the "FIFA effect" across regional economies. By activating in cities like Fort St. John (11-12 June), Kamloops (18 June), and Nelson (24 June), the tour leverages the global brand of FIFA to stimulate local tourism and hospitality sectors.

Anne Kang, B.C.’s Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, emphasized that the tour is vital for "strengthening community bonds and ensuring more people throughout B.C. can share in the excitement." This regional focus aims to create a "halo effect," where the prestige of the Vancouver matches spills over into the provincial interior, supporting local businesses and cultural programming.

A Powerhouse of Corporate Partnerships

The business scale of "Canada Celebrates" is bolstered by a formidable roster of FIFA Commercial Partners. Global giants including Coca-Cola, Kia, Michelob Ultra, Hisense, McDonald’s, and The Home Depot have signed on to deliver football-themed activations and live match viewings. Meanwhile, Bell Media will serve as the primary Media Partner, ensuring the tour maintains a high-profile digital and broadcast presence.

Vittorio Montagliani, FIFA Vice-President and Concacaf President, noted that the tour is a cornerstone of the tournament's long-term strategy. "This FIFA World Cup will create a legacy for football in this country—inspiring the next generation and growing the game for years to come," Montagliani stated.

Anne Kang, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, Government of British Columbia states:

“Canada Celebrates is an incredible opportunity to bring the spirit of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ to communities throughout British Columbia. While Vancouver will proudly serve as a Host City, we’ve already seen firsthand the excitement and impact this experience brings to fans through hosting the Canada Celebrates Test Event. This is about creating lifelong memories, strengthening community bonds, and ensuring more people throughout B.C. and Canada can share in the excitement, pride and passion that defines the world’s biggest sporting event.”

As the tour moves east from the Rockies toward Ontario, it signals a new era of sports marketing in Canada—one where the world’s biggest sporting event is no longer confined to stadium walls but integrated into the fabric of the national landscape.
