Bob Barrie, a luminary in the advertising industry, has significantly influenced creative advertising through his innovative work and leadership. Originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, Barrie moved to Minneapolis to study architecture at the University of Minnesota. However, he transitioned into advertising, where he would leave an indelible mark.

During a distinguished 23-year tenure at Fallon, Barrie contributed to the development of the "Minneapolis Style" of advertising, characterized by its bold, straightforward, and impactful approach. His portfolio includes iconic campaigns for esteemed clients such as TIME Magazine, United Airlines, Hush Puppies Shoes, Porsche, Coca-Cola, Jim Beam, Lee Apparel, Citibank, Nikon, and the launch of Ted Airlines. Notably, his "red border" campaign for TIME Magazine earned the accolade of "Print Campaign of the Decade" in 2000.

Barrie's creative prowess has been widely recognized, amassing 43 One Show Pencils, multiple Clio Awards, Communication Arts honors, Effies, AICP awards, Cannes Lions, and other prestigious accolades. In 2005, he was named to ADWEEK's National All-Star Creative Team, marking his fifth appearance as an ADWEEK All-Star. His leadership extended to serving as president of the One Club for Art & Copy in New York from 1998 to 2001.

In 2007, Barrie co-founded Barrie D’Rozario Murphy, which, under his guidance, was honored with the O’Toole Award as "Best Small Agency in the U.S." in 2009. The agency later rebranded as Barrie D’Rozario DiLorenzo and, in 2014, evolved into Rise and Shine and Partners, where Barrie currently serves as partner and executive creative director.

Beyond commercial endeavors, Barrie has developed public service campaigns for organizations including The Children's Defense Fund, Cease Fire, We Can Ride, and Smile Network International, demonstrating his commitment to leveraging advertising for social good.

In recognition of his exceptional contributions to the advertising industry, Bob Barrie was inducted into the Creative Hall of Fame in 2024, solidifying his legacy as a visionary leader and creative force.
