In 2025, the quantum revolution is moving from theory to global impact. As we celebrate the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, Switzerland is stepping up with Project Quantum, a Swissnex initiative designed to connect Swiss excellence with global efforts in quantum science, innovation, and policy.

At the heart of this initiative is the Swissnex Quantum Summit, taking place on October 13, 2025 in Geneva. This invitation-only event will bring together around 70 key figures actively shaping national and international quantum ecosystems. These include:

  • University leaders advancing quantum education and technology translation
  • Research centers building foundational quantum infrastructure
  • Government agencies involved in funding, strategy, and regulation
  • Quantum-focused accelerators, incubators, and innovation hubs
  • Industry startups, corporations, and investors focused on real-world applications

The summit has three primary objectives:

  1. Exchange Best Practices Across Borders: Presenting successful strategies from various countries on ecosystem development.
  2. Build International Collaborations: Identifying cross-border synergies for joint programs, such as talent initiatives or accelerator partnerships.
  3. Experience Swiss Quantum: Showcasing Switzerland’s contributions to quantum education, research, and commercialization.

The summit’s interactive one-day format includes:

  • Topical panels on ecosystem growth, cross-sector collaboration, and commercialization strategies
  • Flash talks introducing key players and ideas
  • Breakouts in moderated “conversation cafés”
  • Networking opportunities throughout the day, culminating in a closing reception

Project Quantum underscores Switzerland’s belief that international collaboration is essential for shaping a thriving global quantum economy. As the world stands on the threshold of a new technological era, this summit aims to be a catalyst for cross-border innovation, education, and progress in quantum technology.
